And, last but not least, here is a closeup of the cake that Doug and Yvonne (mostly Yvonne) made together for the party. I think they did a great job.
One of my "heroes of the faith" is the Mother Mary. She has this earthy openness about her...just a normal girl going about life. But, unlike many of us, she kept her ears tuned into God's voice. When God asked her to go where no woman had before or ever would go, she said "yes". And then she "pondered these things in her heart". I wish I was more like her...open to God, trusting, quick to say "yes"...maybe my sabbatical will help me along in this way.
